The night continues to draw people from far and wide and continues to grow from strength to strength. We play a varied mix of soul music on vinyl from the 1960s and 1970s drawing on labels such as Tamla Motown, Stax, Atlantic, Chess and Invictus. We also play Northern Soul. We play a mix of familiar and obscure records but always something to dance to.

Our well meaning but essentially ignorant host Will Vandyck chats to people about their connection to Penarth, what they do, that sort of thing, and plays the music they want to hear, so long as they answer a quiz question correctly. There's also something about The Book of Penarth. One reviewer called this show, “a … bit… okay… could be… off.” Another review is still the subject of legal action and we cannot comment at this time. And there's a lot of good music which is some way relevant to whatever the hell else is going on in the show, at least in the host's mind. Click on "READ MORE" to see the whole of Season 1, the guests in each show, and click on any show to listen to it. If you don't do this in the next 5 seconds, you'll have longer.

Acoustic Club is a roots, folk/blues and Americana show, based on the sort of music featured at the live Penarth Acoustic Club, which normally runs on 3rd Friday of every month, with some poetry/spoken word thrown in for good measure. Phil and Ade have run the live club for the last 6 years featuring touring international and local guest musicians, and visiting poets who normally do two short sets each month to complement the music.Hopefully our shows, presented alternately by Phil one week and Ade the next, will represent a good cross-section of the acts who have performed for us over the years, and also music from the wider folk/roots community. Please let us know if you enjoy the show (or don't!), and send us feedback/requests/suggestions via email to acousticclub@penarthsounds.co.uk, or via the PenarthSounds website or social media.
