Originally from Swansea, Ade has lived in Penarth since 1984.

For a period of 8 years in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s he ran Penarth Folk/Blues Club, where he brought guests such as Woody Mann, Duck Baker, Wizz Jones, Steve Tilston and Show of Hands, amongst countless others of similar calibre, to entertain Penarth audiences every Thursday night, first at Penarth Tennis Club and later at the town’s Labour Club.

In 1969, when still only 16, he made a vinyl album as half of the duo Benjamin Delaney Lion, a track from which was included on Cherry Red Records’ 3 CD collection published in June 2015 entitled Dust on the Nettles – A Journey Through The British Underground Folk Scene 1967 – 1972. More surprised than anyone by his inclusion in this collection, alongside the likes of Pentangle, The Incredible String Band and Fairport Convention, he now talks about nothing else.

You can read a bit about his meteoric rise to obscurity in the online magazine It’s Psychedelic Baby.

He ran local music shop Pencerdd in Station Approach (now Penarth Music Centre) for 14 years, along with his wife Jo, before selling it to the current owner 4 years ago, and has been running Penarth Acoustic Club along with Phil Nedin since late 2014.
Phil is from Swansea originally and played in local bands in late 60’s early 70’s. Left Swansea for London in 74 to play music. Stopped playing in 76/77 and studied to become an Engineer.

As a Charted Engineer I returned to Wales in 1988 and settled in Dinas Powys/Penarth. I am now retired but involve myself in part time lecturing at Cardiff University and the Welsh School of Architecture. I play some acoustic guitar and I play drums for a few local bands. I enjoy writing songs and recording. I am part of a team that organises the Penarth Acoustic Club which is in its 6th year of existence. We have musical acts and a poet on the 3rd Friday of every month and book touring acts from Australia, Canada, USA and the UK.
